I Am Married…But! (Netflix) Review :-
The show follows the struggles of married life through I-ling’s perspective, a woman who longs to move out of her in-law’s house but is held back by her husband, a classic mummy’s boy. Although the thought of divorce constantly lingers in her mind, I-ling finds herself drawn back to her husband during pivotal moments, trapping her in a cycle. But everything changes when she meets her soulmate through an app, sparking a new attraction that pulls her in a different direction. Will I-ling be able to break free from this cycle, or will she succumb to her desires?

This show is undeniably an entertainer, packed with moments that keep you hooked and eager to see what happens next. Whether it’s I-ling’s decisions about her marriage, choosing between her husband and soulmate, or the prospect of having a child, these elements pull you in and turn it into an unexpected binge-watching session. The plot effortlessly draws you in, and before you know it, you’ve reached the end, surprised by how quickly it all went by.
The characters are so well-crafted that they feel both relatable and endearing. I-ling, in particular, is a character many women will connect with—whether it’s in the first episode when she voices her thoughts on marriage or later when she’s trapped in a marriage that’s become a source of frustration. Her relatable moments, like her anger at the mess in the kitchen followed by her quick calming down when she sees her husband’s surprise, are scenes we can all empathize with. The societal pressures on women are a theme that resonates with the audience, and seeing I-ling navigate these challenges definitely keeps us engaged.

Then there are the men in her life—her husband, who’s infuriating yet someone we can all see ourselves falling for, the pharmacist who offers a brief escape from her reality, and her friend/ex who hopes for another shot. While the show presents plenty of familiar tropes, it avoids confusion, instead focusing on a woman’s journey to discover what she truly wants and the love she deserves.
The characters are all beautifully written, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their development throughout the series. The show gave me plenty of moments to laugh and others that touched my heart, providing an experience that was truly worth the watch. And the ending? Simply marvelous.
