Housefull 5 Review :-
The Housefull franchise is built on slapstick comedy, so you already know what you’re in for. Akshay Kumar slapping CGI monkeys, blatant objectification of women, and Riteish Deshmukh munching on a parrot as irritating as the one in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon hardly come as a surprise. You might chuckle at lines like “Thokte raho… Taaliya” or “Mera popat kabhi nahi uthega,” and overlook the cringe because that’s part of the brand’s charm. What truly surprises, however, is the complete lack of humor—dirty or otherwise—in the script, and the sheer waste of a star-studded cast known for their impeccable comic timing.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is a far cry from the humor he brought to Dostana and desperately needed a stronger script and better writing. Spanning a lengthy 2 hours and 45 minutes—too long for a whodunit-comedy—the tedious first half is packed with random songs, pointless arguments, childish jabs, and constant noise… but very little humor. Comic timing is sorely missed throughout. Even the presence of Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff as baba and bhidu fails to add any value, leaving you feeling sorry as these talented actors are reduced to mere caricatures of their former selves.

The film starts to pick up pace in the second half but only truly shakes off its sluggishness during the climax—which comes a bit too late. This is also when Nana Patekar makes his entrance. A seasoned master of the genre (think Welcome), Patekar delivers a standout performance as a dhoti-clad Interpol chief based in London with deep roots in Maharashtra. He breathes much-needed life into this overloaded and wayward cruise saga. Sajid Nadiadwala’s attempt to blend comedy with a murder mystery falters on both fronts, except for the final 20 minutes and Nana’s arrival, which finally offer genuine entertainment. That’s the Housefull 5 we were hoping for—thrilling, unpredictable, and funny. While Sajid manages to keep the killer’s identity a secret until the end, the humor unfortunately falls flat throughout most of the film.

Final Thought
Except for Riteish, who manages to entertain, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are given very little to work with in terms of dialogue. The women mainly serve to boost the glam factor and end up as targets of numerous adult jokes. Sonam Bajwa, Fardeen Khan, and Dino Morea deliver sensible performances, while Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, and Chunky Panday are utterly wasted. Talpade barely appears for most of the film—but then again, expecting logic here might be too much to ask.
