In the wake of this investigation, a cold case unit is formed under Vamika’s leadership, comprising Yug, Balwant Singh (the late Nitesh Pandey), and forensic expert Deepali (Preshah Bharti). Together, they set out to tackle and resolve all lingering unresolved cases from the past.

‘Gyaarah Gyaarah’ begins with a compelling premise: a cop from the present day (2016) discovers a walkie-talkie that connects him to a cop from the past (1990). This setup creates immediate intrigue as viewers are drawn into uncovering the connections between past and present events. The two central characters are a major highlight of the drama; you’ll quickly become invested in their journey as they tackle both the cases and their personal mysteries. The plot is robust, weaving through various storylines while keeping the focus on the central trio and their major storyline.

Raghav Juyal delivers an outstanding performance as an impulsive and determined cop who has an uncanny ability to read body language accurately. His character, Yug, quickly resonates with viewers, drawing them into his relentless pursuit of justice and keeping them engaged throughout his struggle.

Initially, Kritika Kamra’s character, Vamika, seems scattered, with her backstory and connection to Anthwal overshadowed by her portrayal as a wide-eyed new officer joining the police department. However, as the story unfolds, Vamika evolves into a savvy, independent, and resolute police officer who is dedicated to solving the case and supporting her team. Kamra effectively conveys both her character’s initial vulnerability and her growth into a formidable investigator.

Dhairya Karwa convincingly portrays the dedicated cop Anthwal, matching Yug’s intensity. The supporting cast, including Gautami Kapoor, Harsh Chhaya, Purnendu Bhattacharya, and Mukti Mohan, also play crucial roles in advancing the narrative.

In this eight-episode crime thriller, which promises to reveal more about the past and present in its next season, the frequent flashbacks occasionally disrupt the drama’s pacing. Nevertheless, director Umesh Bist adeptly manages the multiple timelines, maintaining a consistent tone throughout the series. The storytelling is compelling, with each era distinctly portrayed, immersing viewers in the respective periods. While the plot does slow down at times, it remains a solid drama for fans of the time travel genre.
