Samay Shah, Gurucharan Singh’s on-screen son, recently shared exclusive details about their last conversation a few months ago. He also conveyed a message for the former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor.

Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh has been missing for a week now. Amidst various rumors circulating since his disappearance, Indianexpress.com interviewed his on-screen son Samay Shah, who portrayed Junior Sodhi on Taarak Mehta. Samay revealed that Gurucharan motivated him during a conversation lasting over an hour when they spoke a few months ago. Additionally, he mentioned that the actor was involved in working on his Punjabi film.

Reflecting on their last interaction, Samay recounted, “I spoke with him 4 to 5 months ago over the phone. The conversation lasted for an hour or more, and he kept motivating me. We talked about pursuing our dreams. I missed him a lot, especially since we were no longer working together, and we reminisced about the past.”

Samay also shared his perspective on reports suggesting Gurucharan Singh was suffering from depression. He stated, “He seemed happy when we spoke. I still can’t believe people are saying he was depressed. He isn’t that kind of person, but sometimes you can’t predict how the human mind works. Whenever we spoke, he was very kind and sweet. He seemed fine, and he would regularly check on me. I don’t think he was depressed. However, our conversations weren’t as deep as those he might have had with his parents or friends. I was like a son to him.”

Samay Shah also provided insights into Gurucharan’s professional endeavors. “He had many plans, both in his personal and professional life. Whenever we spoke, I would inquire about what he was working on. He was involved in a Punjabi film project, but he liked to keep things under wraps, so I don’t have all the details. He enjoys surprising people, so I was eagerly awaiting to see what he had in store. I believe the movie was titled GCS. Additionally, I think he was also working on an app. I’m uncertain, but I have a feeling he will return soon,” he shared.

Unfortunately, Samay doesn’t have contact information for Gurucharan’s family, so he hasn’t been able to reach out to them. Reflecting on his fondest memory with Gurucharan, Samay reminisced, “When I was very young, he used to give me ‘khatti meethi,’ which were kisses on both my cheeks. He enjoyed playing with me, and in the company of children, he himself became a child.” He mentioned that they last met at Dilip Joshi’s son’s reception. Samay expressed, “After that, we didn’t meet, but now I hope to see him soon.”

Samay is nearing the completion of his MA in English Literature and intends to focus on writing in the future. He also has a message for Gurucharan, “I just want him to know that he can call me anytime, whatever the situation may be. He will understand this and decipher my message.”
