On Saturday, the Delhi police filed an FIR under Section 365 (abduction) regarding the disappearance of Gurucharan Singh, known for portraying Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
On Saturday, a team from the Delhi Police Special Cell visited the residence of actor Gurucharan Singh to delve into the circumstances surrounding his mysterious disappearance, officials confirmed. The Delhi police took action by lodging an FIR under Section 365 (abduction) in response to Singh’s vanishing act. Known for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Singh, aged 50, resides in the Palam area of Delhi. It has been five days since he was last seen, reportedly near the Delhi airport carrying a backpack, as indicated by CCTV footage.
In their efforts to trace Singh’s movements, authorities are scrutinizing CCTV footage around his residence, hoping to glean insights into his journey from home to the airport. Sources within the police department disclosed that a team of two officers from the special cell meticulously combed through Singh’s residence on Saturday, marking key areas to gather further intel on his movements and activities subsequent to leaving his house.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Rohit Meena stated, “Actor Gurucharan Singh went missing on April 22 evening.” Meena elucidated that Singh’s father lodged a missing person report, recounting that his son departed for Mumbai at 8:30 pm on April 22 and has not been seen since. Despite his intended destination being Mumbai, Singh neither arrived there nor returned home, with his phone also remaining unreachable, as per the complaint.
Police are meticulously investigating the case from various angles, striving to gather pertinent evidence. “We are scouring for footage and have already unearthed several crucial clues through technical means. According to CCTV footage, Singh was last sighted near the airport carrying a backpack,” remarked the DCP.
