Gunaah (DisneyHotstar) Review :-
Gunaah (DisneyHotstar) In this series, viewers are thrust into a world of betrayal, love, and vengeance. “Gunaah” begins with Shiva (Zayn Ibad Khan) being torn apart by the ultimate betrayal from his beloved Tara (Surbhi Jyoti) and his closest friends, Michael (Shashank Ketkar) and JK (Darshan Pandya). Seeking retribution, Shiva transforms into the enigmatic Abhimanyu (Gashmeer Mahajani), a gambler with a singular purpose: to settle the score.
Inspired by the acclaimed Turkish drama “Ezel,” created by Ay Yapim, “Gunaah” weaves a complex narrative that navigates the intricacies of love, friendship, and deceit. The series delves deep into the psyche of its characters, seamlessly transitioning between past and present to unravel the web of betrayal that binds them together.
However, while the storyline remains gripping, certain elements, such as the use of plastic surgery for dramatic transformation, might feel outdated in the contemporary era. Nonetheless, the stellar performances of the cast, particularly Mahajani and Khan, elevate the viewing experience, capturing the audience’s attention with their intense portrayals. Surbhi Jyoti convincingly plays Tara, and her character arc shows potential for more intrigue in future episodes.
Showrunner Anirudh Pathak and director Anil Senior adeptly navigate the dual timelines, maintaining a palpable sense of intrigue throughout the narrative. Although only two episodes have aired so far, the promise of future character developments, especially Darshan Pandya’s morally ambiguous JK, adds depth to the unfolding drama.
However, the episodic release schedule may test the patience of eager viewers, who must wait with bated breath for each new installment. For fans of revenge sagas, “Gunaah” offers a compelling journey into the heart of darkness. Yet, for those seeking groundbreaking innovation, it may come across as a familiar story repackaged for a new audience.
PS. New episodes will drop daily from Monday to Friday.
