Ghaati Review :-

Following Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, Anushka Shetty returns to the big screen with Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. Krish roots the story deeply in the cultural landscapes of Andhra, Odisha, and the agency belt, using the Eastern Ghats not just as a setting but as a powerful metaphor. The first half convincingly builds this world and its hardships, with Desi Raju playing a key role. The second half shifts focus to Sheelavathi’s quest for vengeance, leading to a fiery showdown with Kundhul Naidu. Though impactful in its intentions, the climax occasionally slips into melodrama.

At its core, Ghaati is a powerful tale of resistance and reclamation. It delves into how oppressed communities, trapped by systemic exploitation, transform their suffering into fierce defiance. The film grapples with themes of survival, dignity, and justice, while highlighting the steep cost of rebellion. By placing a woman at the center of this cycle of violence and vengeance, Krish brings a fresh and compelling perspective to the genre.

Ghaati shines brightest as a showcase for Anushka Shetty’s commanding screen presence. She holds your attention throughout, though her transformation into an avenger could have unfolded more naturally. Vikram Prabhu delivers a convincing performance as Desi Raju, while Jagapathi Babu (Visawadeep Rao) and Raju Sundaram (Pebbuli) bring lighter, nuanced moments. Chaitanya Rao surprises with a quirky portrayal of Kundhul Naidu, and Ravindra Vijay’s Kaastala Naidu adds a chilling menace. Strong supporting performances from Jisshu Sengupta, Larissa Bones, John Vijay, and others round out the ensemble effectively.

Ghaati Trailor :-

Technically, the film impresses. The visuals are striking, vividly capturing the lush yet unforgiving terrain of the Eastern Ghats with both scale and authenticity. Production values rival those of major blockbusters, lending the world a rich, tangible texture. The background score and music support the story effectively, even if they don’t quite reach exceptional heights. Action sequences are grand in scale, though they occasionally feel somewhat disconnected from the narrative flow.

Final Thought

The film falters in its second half, where the story becomes predictable, the narrative loses focus, and the pacing grows uneven. The writing leans too heavily on sentimentality rather than maintaining tight, compelling drama. Although the climax is visually striking, it could have benefited from a more polished execution. Ghaati is a revenge drama anchored by strong performances—particularly from Anushka Shetty—and set against the immersive backdrop of the Eastern Ghats. While the latter half doesn’t quite live up to the promise of the first, the film remains an engaging watch that blends spectacle with substance.
