Freakier Friday Review :-

Nearly twenty-two years after the 2003 remake, Freaky Friday returns to its beloved premise—this time with Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis), Anna (Lindsay Lohan), Harper (Julia Butters), and Lily (Sophia Hammons) all swapping bodies in one wild, chaotic stretch. Screenwriter Jordan Weiss leans heavily into teen angst, generational clashes, and the classic trope of parental misunderstandings—only now, those conflicts play out quite literally.

Director Nisha Ganatra orchestrates the body swaps with lively energy and effortless charm. Cinematographer Matthew Clark bathes the small-town settings in bright, welcoming hues that balance modern vibrancy with a nostalgic touch. Editor Eleanor Infante’s crisp pacing keeps the comedy flowing, though the midpoint occasionally feels cluttered as four storylines compete for focus. Amie Doherty’s upbeat score ties everything together, perfectly accentuating both the slapstick humor and tender moments.

Jamie Lee Curtis effortlessly embodies teenage frustration, delivering some of the film’s sharpest one-liners as the perpetually frazzled Tess. The Oscar-winning actress is a delight, humorously dubbing Facebook “a database of old people” and slipping into Gen Z slang like “defo” with convincing flair. Lindsay Lohan keeps pace flawlessly, portraying the anxious Anna-in-a-younger-body with charming self-awareness. Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons steal scenes, flawlessly mimicking their adult counterparts’ mannerisms—from grown-up exasperation to wide-eyed teenage wonder—adding genuine warmth and depth to the ensemble.

Freakier Friday Trailor :-

Manny Jacinto as Anna’s fiancé, Eric Davies, stands out with endearing calm and maturity amid the film’s lively female cast—though the script occasionally overemphasizes his good looks. His comic timing particularly shines during the film’s chaotic climax. Mark Harmon’s cameo as Ryan Volvo offers a familiar presence, but some returning characters from the 2003 original feel overcrowded and underutilized.

Final Thought

The laughs come quickly and effortlessly, with more hits than misses. However, juggling four simultaneous body swaps can sometimes leave the audience feeling a bit overwhelmed, making it tricky to keep track of the chaos unfolding between the characters. This occasionally disrupts the otherwise smooth flow of the comedy. Still, Freakier Friday lives up to its name, delivering a fresh, freakier—and downright fun—family comedy that sparks nostalgia for the original, even if it feels a bit overcrowded at times.
