Finding Her Edge Review :-
Finding Her Edge is based on Jennifer Iacopelli’s 2022 YA romance novel. Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys), taking a break from competitive ice dancing, helps her father, Will (Harmon Walsh), run his skating training academy. The Russo family is a respected skating dynasty: her parents are former Olympic gold medalists, and her sisters are training for the World Championships. The eldest, Elise (Alexandra Beaton), is preparing for the solo figure-skating Worlds, while the younger sister, Maria (Alice Malakov), aims to reach that level in the coming years. After his wife passed away, Will runs the academy with strict discipline and high ambitions, hoping to produce skating champions. However, his approach creates tension with his daughters, who feel he acts more like a coach than a father.
When Elise injures herself during qualifiers and withdraws from the competition, it’s a big setback for her father. Adriana steps in, facing her own doubts, and trains for the ice-dancing championships with her new partner, Brayden (Cale Ambrozic). Their strong connection on and off the ice leads them to pretend they’re dating to attract social media attention and secure sponsors.
This confuses Adriana’s former partner and childhood crush, Freddie (Olly Atkins), who believes their relationship is real, while Brayden begins to develop genuine feelings for Adriana. Adding to the tension, the Russo Rink struggles financially due to some of Will’s risky decisions. Meanwhile, Elise grows increasingly insecure as Adriana gains more attention in the spotlight.
Adding to the drama, the Russo Rink struggles financially after some of Will’s risky business choices put them in debt. Meanwhile, Elise becomes more and more insecure as Adriana receives growing attention in the spotlight.
Finding Her Edge mixes sibling rivalry, complicated love triangles, family tensions, teenage struggles, and parenting challenges. The 8-episode series, with each episode around 45 minutes, has a lot happening. While it isn’t boring, it doesn’t get very exciting either. The main draw is the growing chemistry between the level-headed Adriana and the rebellious, bratty skater Brayden, whose reputation precedes him.
Finding Her Edge Trailor :-
However, Adriana’s sudden feelings for Freddie feel unconvincing and inconsistent with her character, and Freddie himself keeps changing his emotions. Like other shows in this genre, such as My Time with the Walter Boys or The Summer I Turned Pretty, the series predictably makes viewers pick between Team Brayden and Team Freddie. With so many other storylines happening, the romance feels subdued and doesn’t spark enough excitement to fully engage the audience.
Final Thought
Despite its stunning costumes, snowy visuals, and beautiful ice-dancing scenes, Finding Her Edge doesn’t fully succeed due to an uneven plot, predictable storylines, and a forced love triangle. However, the main cast—Madelyn Keys, Cale Ambrozic, Olly Atkins, Alexandra Beaton, and Alice Malakov—deliver strong performances, giving their best in this ice-skating series.
