Featuring familiar faces and showcasing stunning choreography, the show blends humor and emotion into a delightful and entertaining package.

Etoile is filled with clashing egos and hilarious, often eyebrow-raising situations. The series delves into the best and worst of its characters, whose complex pasts shape their present and drive their insatiable hunger for more—more success, more recognition, and more from life itself. The narrative weaves through each character’s personal struggles, revealing how they’ve evolved over time and what motivates them now.

I found the debates, arguments, and tantrums both amusing and over-the-top. These larger-than-life personalities are filled with emotions that often resemble those of toddlers, and that’s what makes it so entertaining. Their outbursts might annoy some, but Etoile paints a vivid picture of passionate artists battling the harsh realities of capitalism and the growing apathy of audiences who are no longer as eager to consume what they have to offer.

That said, there are moments when it can get a bit grating. With nearly 8 hours of total runtime, the characters can sometimes test your patience, especially when they’re being deliberately obtuse for no apparent reason. The series also tends to drag at times, with certain sections feeling unnecessarily slow. However, it often redeems itself through its quirky characters and their dramatic outbursts.

The performances are stellar across the board, both in terms of acting and the ballet sequences. The latter are truly captivating; even as a non-expert, I found myself mesmerized by the fluid, graceful movements. As for the acting, it’s a delightful mix of charm and irritation, perfectly capturing the eccentricities of these talented characters and making them all the more engaging.

Final Thought

I find Etoile to be a highly entertaining show that grabbed my attention right from the first episode. While it can be a bit frustrating at times, it’s overall a fun experience. If you can overlook a few annoying moments, you’re in for a great ride.
