And so, a new chapter begins here, with a fresh school year, a new cohort of students, and a new mystery to unravel. This mystery kicks off with Guzman, visibly distressed, as fireworks illuminate the sky, revealing a body floating in the pool outside. The reality of the situation sinks in as someone realizes they are responsible.
The season then takes us back in time, following the events leading up to this moment. New students Mencia, Ari, and Patrick take center stage, immersing themselves in the drama alongside our main ensemble.
Patrick enters the scene, immediately causing tension in Omar and Ander’s relationship and threatening to disrupt their stability.
Meanwhile, Mencia forms a romantic bond with Rebe, much to the chagrin of Rebe’s mother, Sandra.
Ari becomes embroiled in a love triangle with Guzman and Samuel, intensifying the rivalry between them and raising suspicions about Ari’s fate.
As expected from “Elite,” the season is filled with scandalous affairs, drama, and misunderstandings, leaning heavily on familiar tropes. While it introduces some darker themes such as prostitution and drug use, it could have delved deeper into issues of class.
However, one drawback of Season 4 is the lack of likability of the character Ari. As her character unfolds, she becomes less appealing, detracting from the intrigue of the mystery centered around her.
Despite some standout moments, Season 4 lacks the same urgency as its predecessors, although the final reveal in Episode 8 sets the stage for Season 5 effectively.
While Season 4 of “Elite” introduces new characters and compelling storylines, it falls short of the elite standard set by previous seasons. Nonetheless, it still offers engaging drama and leaves viewers eager to see what lies ahead.
