Ek Thi Begum Season 2 (MxPlayer) Review :-

The underworld’s allure has always captivated the public, and director Sachin Darekar is no exception. Rather than being daunted by its darkness, Darekar is intrigued by the complex emotions and unspoken rules that govern criminal life. In the first season of Ek Thi Begum, we followed Ashraf Bhatkar as she embarked on a relentless mission to avenge her husband’s murder and uncover the mastermind behind it. Season 2 picks up from the shocking conclusion of the previous season, where Ashraf was brutally attacked and presumed dead. The new season’s trailer reveals that Ashraf survived, but her quest for revenge is set to be more challenging than ever.

Ek Thi Begum Season 2

Anuja Sathe delivers a consistently compelling performance throughout the series. Her portrayal of Ashraf Bhatkar in Season 1, which disrupted the underworld from Mumbai to Dubai, was powerful. In Season 2, she elevates the show further as Leela Paswan, bringing depth and authenticity to her role. This season notably avoids unnecessary sensationalism, focusing instead on a gritty and realistic portrayal.

The series continues to highlight that crime is impartial and can be ruthlessly unforgiving, regardless of gender. While the narrative may appear exaggerated at times, the fact that it is inspired by true events keeps viewers engaged and eager for the resolution. As a bilingual series, it features a mix of Marathi and Hindi dialogues, with the Marathi-speaking cast adding authenticity to their roles.

Ek Thi Begum Season 2 (MxPlayer) Trailor :-

Hitesh stands out as a formidable force in this intense battle, playing the alpha male who works directly with the head of state. The actor-singer, soon to be seen in Ranveer Singh’s 83, delivers a strong performance as the gang leader Ashwin Surve.

Ek Thi Begum 2 not only highlights Anuja Sathe’s portrayal of Ashraf, now Leela Paswan, as a powerful woman but also introduces Sauraseni’s Anita Surve, who steps into the role of a gang leader following her husband’s death.

The second and final season is packed with betrayals, bloodshed, and intense gunfights. While the trailer hinted at political involvement, promising an intriguing twist, the actual content doesn’t delve deeply into the political angle. However, a few scenes do touch on how politicians might exploit their power.

Expectations might have been high for Shahab, who plays one of the leading gangsters. However, his limited screen time and minimal action sequences as seen in The Family Man leave him with little opportunity to fully explore and develop his role.

Verdict:

Ek Thi Begum 2 concludes on a tragic note with its revenge story left unresolved. As a real-life tale, it doesn’t leave much room for viewers to complain about this ending. The season might have benefited from giving some actors more screen time without extending the show’s length unnecessarily. Despite this, Ek Thi Begum 2 is still an engaging watch.
