Don't Come Home (Netflix) Review :-

This Thai mystery series doesn’t take long to get to the heart of the matter. From the very first episode, we meet Varee and her young daughter Min, who move into Varee’s eerie ancestral home, where nothing is quite as it seems. It’s clear that Varee is escaping an abusive situation and is doing her best to hide her past. The first episode effectively sets a creepy atmosphere, hinting that something is off in the Jarukanant house. While Min senses that something is wrong, Varee, like many horror protagonists, must overlook the obvious to stretch the narrative.

Things quickly take a darker turn when Min mysteriously goes missing inside the house, prompting a police investigation. Detective Fah, who is assigned to the case, struggles to find any evidence of Min’s presence, but a nagging feeling lingers in her mind. Despite some predictable elements, the series skillfully builds suspense throughout the unfolding events. Viewers are led to wonder if Varee is experiencing a mental health crisis as a result of her husband’s abuse. Is her daughter truly gone, or is there something supernatural at play?

Both Pitchapa Phanthumchinda and Woranuch BhiromBhakdi deliver outstanding performances in this series. Phanthumchinda, as Detective Fah, exudes a no-nonsense attitude paired with a healthy curiosity. She strikes a balance between being relatable and sympathetic, making viewers want to follow her journey. Her personal life is thoughtfully developed, adding depth to her character rather than reducing her to a one-dimensional role.

On the other hand, BhiromBhakdi portrays Varee with a palpable sense of desperation and fear, effectively embodying the role of a grieving mother.

The series features well-crafted twists and turns throughout its runtime. While some may seem obvious in hindsight, they are executed effectively and steer clear of cheap jump scares. The simplicity of these twists makes them impactful, especially in the context of the complex narrative. When the story takes an unexpected sci-fi turn in episode 4, viewers will be left riveted, eager to uncover the truth behind the shocking developments.

Don't Come Home (Netflix) Trailor :-

Don’t Come Home masterfully weaves together various elements, creating a blend of genres that will leave you shocked and surprised. It’s a thrilling and emotional journey where heartbreak leads to poor choices, and the emotional moments are just as significant as the suspenseful ones. With outstanding performances, this Thai thriller is both enjoyable and captivating, keeping you engaged throughout. While I would have liked to explore the sci-fi aspects a bit more, I still found the overall experience highly rewarding.

Final Thought

This Netflix series is skillfully crafted and features strong performances, complete with intriguing twists that will keep you eagerly seeking answers. Its concise runtime ensures it never overstays its welcome, effectively covering key points without dragging. Overall, it’s a thoroughly entertaining watch.
