Dil Dosti Aur Dogs (JioHotstar) Review :-
It’s hard to dislike a movie centered around dogs, and even harder when there are so many adorable canines on screen, as seen in Dil Dosti Aur Dogs. With dogs making appearances in nearly every scene, it’s impossible not to smile at their presence. However, despite the heartwarming pups, this JioHotstar film falls short. The storyline feels shallow and clichéd, while the acting leaves much to be desired, making it a messy viewing experience.

The film presents four different love stories, each exploring the role dogs play in bringing joy to our complicated lives. Unfortunately, that’s about the only thing that stands out, as nothing else truly leaves a lasting impression. The poor acting across the board certainly contributes to the film’s shortcomings, but the weak script doesn’t help either. While all four stories revolve around broken relationships, none of them delve deeply enough into the characters or their issues, making them feel like hollow caricatures of real struggles.

Whether it’s Kunaal Roy Kapur and Masumeh Makhija’s storyline about marital issues or Ehan Bhat’s Sunny arc, which frankly doesn’t make much sense, the film fails to leave an impact because the storytelling lacks sincerity. The creators introduce important themes but fail to explore them meaningfully, treating them as just another plot point. While the film attempts to evoke a reaction, it’s presented so superficially that it ends up feeling frustrating instead of moving.
Dil Dosti Aur Dogs (JioHotstar) Trailor :-
Let’s talk about the performances. Ehan Bhat’s portrayal of Sunny is a real letdown from the start. His performance feels so forced, especially in scenes with Tridha Choudhury, where the lack of chemistry becomes painfully obvious. The subplot with his girlfriend is equally frustrating, as she delivers a bizarre Disney villain-style monologue that feels completely out of place in the script. The rest of the cast does what they can, but the story is so underdeveloped that it doesn’t leave much of an impression. The characters are forgettable and lack depth, making it hard to invest in their journeys.
Final Thought
Dil Dosti Aur Dogs had the potential to be a light, heartwarming film, but its underdeveloped plot, lackluster characters, and weak performances make it a struggle to get through. However, the dogs were definitely a highlight.
