Derek Haas’s Countdown is an ambitious series that spans 10 lengthy episodes, diving deep into the world of crime and the intense drive for revenge and recognition. Starring Jensen Ackles, best known as Dean Winchester from Supernatural, the show unravels a shocking crime while exploring the backgrounds of every character involved—including the antagonist—offering viewers a memorable and immersive experience.
The series succeeds more often than not, delivering plenty of mystery and intrigue. However, it doesn’t offer anything particularly fresh or groundbreaking, which can make the 10-episode runtime feel a bit tedious at times. It follows the familiar formula of a villain plotting to blow up a major American city for some motive, while a ragtag group of unlikely heroes comes together to save the day.
