All About ‘CoComelon Lane: The Nursery Rhyme Musical’

As parents, we understand the invaluable role that teachers play in shaping the lives of the children in their classrooms. Gratitude is the central theme of The Nursery Rhyme Musical because, honestly, we can never thank teachers enough.

“This special is truly about honoring teachers and expressing our appreciation for all they do—from guiding children through new school routines and fostering a love of learning to teaching social-emotional skills in the classroom,” says Meghan Sheridan.

Sheridan explains that the special begins with Ms. Appleberry going out of her way to make Cece feel extra special on her birthday. Inspired by this kindness, Cece comes up with the idea to organize a surprise for Ms. Appleberry. With the help of her friends and all the parents, they plan the ultimate surprise—a musical performance!

Naturally, music plays a central role in the special, featuring a brand-new original song titled “The Grateful Song.”

“Through ‘The Grateful Song,’ we illustrate the many ways little ones can express gratitude to those they love. Whether it’s making a card, giving a small gift, baking a treat, singing a song, showing kindness, or simply saying ‘thank you,’ children learn that there are countless ways to show appreciation,” Sheridan explains.

‘The Nursery Rhyme Musical’

Nursery rhymes have been a cherished part of early childhood for generations, passed down by parents to their little ones. In CoComelon Lane, the kids decide to spotlight the nursery rhymes they’ve learned from their teacher as part of their musical surprise.

“Each song allows Ms. Appleberry’s students to showcase the many ways she has supported them at school,” Sheridan shares. “From helping Cody cope with separation anxiety to guiding Nina in making new friends, the performance highlights the meaningful impact she’s had on their lives.”

The musical features plenty of beloved classics that kids adore, including “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” “Muffin Man,” “Old MacDonald,” “Pop! Goes the Weasel,” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”

But there’s also a fun twist on one of these favorites—”If You’re Happy and You Know It!”

“The Nursery Rhyme Musical introduces a new version called ‘If You’re Grateful and You Know It,’ where young viewers at home can join in,” Sheridan reveals. “There’s even a special moment where children are invited to help JJ, Cece, and their friends put on the show from their own living rooms!” she shares with Parents.
