It follows wealthy businessman Eshaan Sood (Kunal Nayyar), who is greedy, mean to the less fortunate, and indifferent to the spirit of Christmas. On Christmas Eve, three spirits visit him, showing his past, present, and the results of his actions, hoping to teach him kindness. The story asks whether the holiday season can change him for the better.

Christmas Karma Review :-

Eshaan Sood is a mix of the Grinch and Scrooge, seeing Christmas as complete nonsense. On Christmas Eve, he fires staff for celebrating behind his back and scolds his nephew, a singing cab driver, a store owner, and carolers raising money for charity. Then he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley (Hugh Bonneville), whose chained, cold-hearted spirit warns him of a grim future if he doesn’t change. After that, the Ghosts of Christmas Past (Eva Longoria), Present (Billy Porter), and Future (Boy George) guide Sood through his childhood, his choices, and how his family and employees really see him.

Adapting a British classic with a multicultural, musical twist seemed promising on paper. Directed and written by Gurinder Chadha, this Bollywood-inspired remake had potential but struggles in execution. The film relies heavily on flashy song-and-dance sequences—from carnival-style numbers and hip-hop to a full Bhangra Christmas track—which make the story feel crowded. The pacing is uneven as well: showing Sood’s meanness drags on, and his sudden change of heart feels more like a gimmick than a true Christmas transformation.

The film succeeds at times, with some impressive visuals and a thoughtful portrayal of Asian history, especially the expulsion of Asians from Uganda under President Idi Amin and the racism they faced. The CGI is decent, and despite its shortcomings, the movie has moments that are genuinely entertaining.

Christmas Karma Trailor :-

Kunal Nayyar handles some emotional scenes well, especially when reflecting on his past, but overall his performance feels more acted than believable. Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, and Charithra Chandran do a solid job, with Suter showing quiet sincerity as Bob Cratchit. Among the ghosts, Billy Porter stands out, particularly in scenes highlighting their shared experiences with racism. Christmas Karma is an okay watch, offering a few lively moments that stand out in an otherwise uneven story.
