Carry-On is a thrilling and chaotic ride through Christmas madness at the airport, cranked up to the max. TSA agent Ethan finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, blackmailed into helping smuggle a dangerous package that could result in fatalities—or worse, harm his pregnant girlfriend. Faced with an impossible dilemma, Ethan must do whatever it takes to make the right choice, with the film repeatedly delivering a harsh reality check as his situation spirals out of control.
This action-thriller has all the ingredients for forgettable entertainment—a clichéd plot, stylish visuals, and solid performances from its cast. If you keep your expectations in check, there’s not much that can go wrong. Watching it with low expectations can actually make the experience more enjoyable, as the film surprises with its twists and turns. While these twists aren’t groundbreaking, they remain consistently entertaining.
By the time the film hits its midpoint, it veers off the rails, introducing absurd, over-the-top moments that keep the audience thoroughly engaged.
