Campus Diaries (MxPlayer) Review :-
Campus Diaries, as the promos suggest, explores the college experience from multiple angles. Harsh Beniwal remains true to his YouTube persona (particularly reminiscent of his School Diaries role), while Ritvik Sahore effectively portrays a modern-day Devdas, albeit without the alcohol. Salonie Patel makes an impact in several scenes but ultimately takes a backseat to the male characters, especially Harsh’s Sudheer, and their perspectives.
The series starts off with explicit language, setting the tone for what’s to come. It’s clear that this is Harsh’s familiar territory.
Ritvik’s portrayal of Abhilash is endearing from the very first frame, while Salonie’s Sushmita combines cuteness with a fierce edge, creating a compelling and dynamic character.
However, the series seems to endorse ragging, with Harsh’s character setting a poor example. Ritvik’s character reflects this, suggesting that widespread ragging creates a norm. It’s unclear if the creators of Campus Diaries fully considered the implications of this portrayal. The show also incorporates random songs during romantic scenes, which feels unrealistic and reminiscent of reel trends.
Manoj Joshi, as the engineering college dean, quickly blends into the show’s vibrant atmosphere. His unexpected Zoya Akhtar references add both surprise and humor.
Harsh’s fans will likely enjoy his performance, as he remains true to his familiar style and even enhances it.
Abhinav Sharma’s portrayal of Raghav Gupta introduces a refreshing new dynamic to the series from his first appearance. His warm presence elevates Campus Diaries, though his character’s development wanes as the episodes go on, requiring patience from viewers.
Srishti Ganguly Rindani, as the college geek Sanya, is endearing but occasionally grating. Her tendency to lecture her friends, combined with her quirky persona, slightly dampens the show’s energy.
Saloni Gaur’s Priyanka makes a late entrance in the series and fails to make a significant impact. Despite being portrayed as a strong character, she never quite manages to captivate or intimidate, leaving her presence feeling underutilized and overshadowed.

Ritvik finds himself once again cast as the heartbroken character, a role he performs convincingly following his portrayal in Indori Ishq. This time, he navigates his character’s emotional turmoil without alcohol, delivering a particularly memorable and humorous breakdown scene.
Abhilash’s (Ritvik) journey is effectively illustrated in the moment where he confronts the reasons behind his delay in completing college.
Srishti’s Sanya’s realization that Raghav isn’t the right match provides a significant moment in the series. Although this storyline is explored throughout the show, it eventually shifts from initially engaging to a more mundane development by the end.
The scene between Sudheer and Abhilash, showcasing their wild friendship, stands out as the highlight of the series. It simultaneously elicits laughter and sympathy for the endearing Abhilash.
The series also delves into the complex relationship between Raghav and Choe, though it often veers into humorously sexist territory.
The show is rife with cringe-worthy moments, making it hard to keep track. Raghav’s interactions with Sanya are a prime example of this.

Fans of Harsh will notice many echoes of his School Diaries persona. Despite his attempts to project a tough image, he often comes across as more of a timid character in reality.
As anticipated, the series concludes on a dramatic note. However, it leaves a lasting impression with its message that friendships endure above all else. This heartfelt theme is what sets Campus Diaries apart, though it doesn’t quite reach the level of specialness achieved by Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

Though Campus Diaries spans a lengthy 7-8 hours, it features some genuinely cool moments. It can be cringeworthy at times and occasionally feels like an Instagram reel, which shows the series is trying to stay current but doesn’t always suit the show’s format. Despite this, Campus Diaries gains momentum and stands out for its relatable portrayal of the lead characters’ lives. While the series could benefit from a tighter edit and more concise scenes, it effectively delivers both laughter and emotional depth throughout its run.
