Bun Butter Jam Review :-
Bun Butter Jam kicks off with two moms (Saranya and Devadarshini) having a family-and-marriage chat that feels stuck in 2012. The opening ten minutes drag on—no humor, no spark—just aunts being aunts.
Then the kids enter the scene. Chandru (Raju Jeyamohan) navigates a tricky social landscape: his crush on college mate and Instagram influencer Nandhini (Bhavya), a falling out with his best friend Saravanan—who just so happens to like the same girl—and a love-hate dynamic with his neighbor, Aadhya. Meanwhile, Aadhya’s boyfriend mostly plays the role of a hapless sidekick. The film centers on this group’s drama, while the parents mostly react with a “shocked Pikachu” face to their kids’ antics.
The movie lingers too long on generational gap jokes that rarely hit the mark. Moms baffled by their kids’ behavior? Kids obsessing over reels and followers? It’s all there—and mostly falls flat. Once the characters start dissecting Instagram metrics, you might find yourself reaching for your own phone out of boredom.
Bun Butter Jam Trailor :-
But the second half starts to find its footing. When the film eases off the forced comedy, certain scenes genuinely resonate. The dynamics between Chandru, Nandhini, Saravanan, and Aadhya feel authentic, especially in their casual hangouts without any romantic tension. Even some parent-child moments begin to hit the right notes.
Final Thought
The cast delivers solid performances, with Raju Jeyamohan, Bhavya, and Aadhya sharing genuine chemistry. Nivas K. Prasanna’s music adds a fresh and energetic vibe to the film.
