Bloody Ishq (DisneyHotstar) Review :-

Vikram Bhatt’s Bloody Ishq falls short of delivering the expected thrills and chills of a horror thriller. Instead, it leans heavily on romantic suspense and melodrama, failing to bring innovation to the genre. The film depends on worn-out tropes, such as secluded mansions and creaking doors, which have become predictable and lack originality.

Written by Mahesh Bhatt, the story follows Neha (Avika Gor) and her husband Romesh (Vardhan Puri) as they attempt to rebuild their lives after Neha’s near-drowning incident, which results in memory loss. Their move to a remote mansion in Scotland leads to eerie occurrences that prompt Neha to investigate whether the house is haunted or if there is another explanation.

The narrative introduces twists with Neha’s friend Ayesha (Jeniffer Piccinato) attempting to help her recover her lost memories. However, it remains unclear whether Ayesha has ulterior motives or is genuinely trying to assist. The answers are fairly predictable, yet the film takes 138 minutes to resolve these questions.

The execution of the film is clichéd and predictable, lacking any significant “wow” factor in the story or direction. Mediocre dialogues by Shweta Bothra fail to enhance the drama’s impact. The horror elements fall flat, and the romance between the leads seems far-fetched and overly emphasized, overshadowing the intended horror. Even the ghostly presence and the haunted occurrences in the mansion fail to deliver genuine scares.

Bloody Ishq (DisneyHotstar) Trailor :-

Avika Gor gives a solid performance as Neha, though it’s similar to her role in 1920: Horrors of the Heart. Vardhan Puri is okay as Romesh, but the writing doesn’t let him shine. Jeniffer Piccinato also does well in her role.

The music, usually a strong point in Bhatt camp horror films, disappoints in Bloody Ishq. The visual effects are not great, adding to the film’s overall letdown. Overall, Bloody Ishq is a romantic thriller with some horror elements, but it falls short in both genres.
