Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Review :-

Staying true to the franchise’s theme, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 features a quirky, unsuspecting protagonist facing off against a haunted haveli with a dark history. The century-old mansion is in desperate need of restoration and sale, but the haunting presence of Manjulika prevents the owners from moving forward. In a bid for resources, the royal family enlists the help of Rooh Baba, who jumps at the lucrative opportunity, only to find himself ensnared in chaos as he encounters two dark forces claiming to be Manjulika.

Following the success of Stree 2, this horror comedy marks Anees Bazmee’s return to direct Bhool Bhulaiyaa after his hit in 2022, taking over from Priyadarshan, who directed the original featuring Akshay Kumar in 2007. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 leans more towards comedy while incorporating horror elements. Ensemble comedies have always been Bazmee’s strength (think Welcome and No Entry), making his shift away from Priyadarshan’s psychologically intense style understandable. A standout scene involving a superstar is a highlight of the film and one of its finest moments.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 keeps you engaged throughout, although there are moments where the comedic punches don’t hit as hard as they could. The story takes some time to unfold, but the payoff is satisfying, especially with a clever twist in the climax that catches you off guard. The filmmakers manage to deliver a smart and mature take on a mass entertainer. The art direction also deserves praise, with production values that surpass those of previous installments.

Kartik Aaryan anchors the film as he reprises his role as Ruhaan/Rooh Baba, showcasing his strong screen presence and fully owning the character. While this is undeniably a Kartik Aaryan show, the women in the cast have been a vital support and draw for the franchise. Whether it’s Tabu in the earlier film or Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit in this one, these celebrated actresses shine and steal the spotlight.

Final Thought

The film sees the return of Vidya Balan to the franchise, following her acclaimed portrayal of Manjulika in 2007. She skillfully conveys emotion through her expressive eyes. Joining her is Madhuri Dixit, and together they embody the perfect contrast of fire and ice. Madhuri, with her radiant smile, commanding presence, and graceful dance moves, is a captivating sight. Their iconic dance-off to “Ami Je Tomar,” where Madhuri showcases Kathak and Vidya blends Bharatnatyam and Odissi, certainly lives up to the hype. While it’s challenging to match Madhuri’s dancing prowess, Vidya holds her own with impressive skill. The placement of the song feels a bit abrupt, but the stunning visuals and compelling performances more than compensate for it. Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, and Ashwini Kalsekar are all extremely talented and deserved better dialogue. Additionally, Triptii Dimri’s character arc could have been more fully developed.
