Bhay - The Gaurav Tiwari Review :-

Belief in the paranormal is a personal matter, and many people remain unsure about it. Showing different viewpoints, especially when backed by facts and science, can make even skeptics question their doubts. Amazon MX Player’s new horror series explores the true story of Gaurav Tiwari, a former pilot who became a paranormal investigator and later died under strange circumstances in his bathroom.

It is a fascinating case. While the police ruled it a suicide, many believers felt his death was linked to the paranormal forces he spent his life investigating. The series mixes real footage with dramatized scenes and traces Tiwari’s life from the beginning of his paranormal work to his final days. The story is engaging and sparks curiosity. Even as a non-believer in ghosts, the show made me question whether the events were related to mental health or something truly supernatural.

The biggest weakness of the series is how poorly the ghosts are shown, making it hard to take the story seriously. The spirit appearances, basic EMF devices, and similar elements feel outdated and even silly, especially today. Instead of creating fear or tension, these choices come across as unconvincing, and the weak visual effects only make it worse.

Another problem is that the show tries to handle too many storylines at once. Irene’s personal haunting, in particular, feels unnecessary and just as awkward as the rest, which takes away from the main story. While Koechlin’s performance is decent, the bad effects hurt the show overall. On top of that, the overly dramatic scenes make the series feel exaggerated and less believable than it should be.

Bhay - The Gaurav Tiwari Trailor :-

Karan Tacker plays Tiwari and delivers a solid performance, handling the character and his situations well. The acting is strong, but with a story like this, the execution is key—and that’s where the series falls short. What begins as a mystery around Gaurav’s death ends in a predictable cliffhanger, which feels surprising in a disappointing way. It’s also strange that the show largely ignores Gaurav’s personal life, choosing instead to go over the top and unrealistic.

Final Thought

Supernatural shows are very common these days, making it hard to create real suspense or fear. Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Story feels outdated, like it belongs to the simpler Ssshhhh…Koi Hai era when audiences were less familiar with the genre. Today, viewers have seen much better shows that mix genres effectively and leave a stronger impression. Compared to those, the execution here falls flat, which is its biggest drawback.
