Badass Ravi Kumar Review :-

At the start, Badass Ravi Kumar sets the tone with a disclaimer: “This film is all about badass logic, and here logic is optional.” It promises over-the-top, dialogue-heavy entertainment reminiscent of the 80s, and it certainly delivers on that front. But does that make it enjoyable? Unfortunately, the answer is a definite NO.

The film struggles with a disjointed narrative that fails to captivate, despite its grand ambitions. While action films don’t always need logic, they do require some coherence—and Badass Ravi Kumar completely lacks that. Instead, it often feels like an unintentional parody, making its 141-minute runtime feel more torturous than exciting, especially with Himesh Reshammiya dominating the screen throughout.

Set in 1989, the story follows Ravi Kumar, a rogue cop determined to root out corruption and take down the bad guys. Suspended for his politically incorrect methods, he is covertly sent to Muscat to recover a camera reel containing sensitive information about Indian secret agents. This intel is also being pursued by Syed Bashir (Manish Wadhwa), Carlos Pedro (Prabhu Deva), and Laila (Kirti Kulhari), with Commissioner Awasthi (Saurabh Sachdeva) entrusting Ravi with the mission.

The film centers on Ravi Kumar’s larger-than-life character, but while Reshammiya is passable in the action sequences, he struggles in the emotional moments. His over-the-top patriotism and bombastic dialogues (written by Bunty Rathore), like “Jo Ravi Kumar se ulajhta hai, uske photo pe haar chadh jaata hai,” might get a quick laugh but fail to make a lasting impact. They may entertain briefly, but lack the power needed to truly resonate.

Prabhu Deva, as Carlos Pedro Panther, adds some humor with his flashy red suit and golden shoes. His action scenes, designed to mimic freestyle choreography, are interesting at times but ultimately come off as too amateurish to make him a truly menacing villain. Meanwhile, the supporting cast—including Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone, and Rajesh Sharma—are criminally underused.

The film also awkwardly forces in a love triangle between Ravi and two sisters, Laila and Madhubala (Simona J). However, this subplot lacks emotional depth, making it neither engaging nor entertaining. Despite her charm, Simona J struggles to convey emotion convincingly, making her performance one of the film’s weakest points.

Badass Ravi Kumar Trailor :-

With an overload of characters, chaotic subplots, pointless gunfights, and over-the-top stunts, the film quickly descends into a disorganized mess. While the VFX and action scenes are visually sleek, they fall short of delivering the nostalgic masala experience the film strives for. The soundtrack is equally forgettable, with only “Tere Pyaar Mein” leaving any lasting impression.

Final Thought

Even if you set logic aside, Badass Ravi Kumar fails to deliver even guilty-pleasure entertainment. Himesh Reshammiya’s attempt at a mass-action spectacle isn’t just unenjoyable—it’s an exhausting experience.
