Bad Cop (DisneyHotstar) Review :-

Bad Cop (DisneyHotstar) Director Aditya Datt delivers a mass entertainer packed with high-octane action sequences, quirky villains, and thrilling cop-versus-criminal showdowns. The series begins with a bang—a murder and a fight scene between twin brothers Karan and Arjun (both played by Gulshan Devaiah) and gangsters. This leads to a classic case of mistaken identity between the tough cop and his cunning petty criminal brother, and the ensuing chaos significantly impacts their lives.

While the mistaken identity trope involving twins is familiar, this eight-part series weaves together multiple tracks and plotlines. The central confusion surrounding the twins affects all other narratives—Karan’s relationship with his cop wife and boss Devika (Harleen Sethi), and Arjun’s relationship with his thug girlfriend Kiki (Aishwarya Sushmita). Meanwhile, CIB officer Arif Khan (Saurabh Sachdeva) investigates his journalist friend’s murder. A ruthless gangster, Kazbe, orchestrates crime from behind bars while his nephew seeks revenge on the brothers. Hints of a larger conspiracy surface, with flashbacks revealing the twins’ past at an orphanage.

Each 35-minute episode attempts to juggle various plotlines. While the pacing is brisk, the short runtime limits in-depth exploration, making the narrative feel sketchy for most of the series. Character development and emotional arcs take a backseat as the series prioritizes action and plot twists.

Gulshan Devaiah delivers a dynamic performance, excelling in action sequences as both Karan and Arjun. Harleen Sethi impresses as the tough cop frustrated by Karan both professionally and personally, showcasing her fighting skills in a standout scene where she confronts a corrupt politician trying to free smuggled goods confiscated by her team. Saurabh Sachdeva portrays a promising character, though his role doesn’t fully utilize his talent. Anurag Kashyap, as a foul-mouthed don, seems to enjoy portraying a character reminiscent of the eccentric villains he has created as a director.

Bad Cop isn’t about a gritty concept or a gripping narrative. It’s a high-octane action ride with a dash of humor for viewers seeking a quick and entertaining escape.
