Anupamaa, June 4: Anupama diligently assists with the preparations, despite internal turmoil. Baa, expressing her discontent to Baapuji, frets over potential societal gossip. Baapuji, however, defends Anupama, highlighting her innocence and resilience. He questions Baa’s abrupt change in attitude towards Anupama, contrasting it with her previous kindness in America. Concerned for Dimpy and Titu’s impending marriage, Baa explains her behavior as a reflection of her family’s well-being.
Baapuji reassures Baa that Anupama will handle any criticism with grace, just as she manages Vanraj and Toshu’s challenges. With these words, Baapuji leaves, leaving Baa to ponder her actions.
Anupama gets suspicious about Vanraj:
Anupama eavesdrops on Vanraj as he converses with someone on the phone, instructing them to locate a missing woman and ensure her presence at the wedding. He emphasizes the urgency, indicating he’s paying for their services. Sensing Anupama’s presence, Vanraj grows suspicious but receives another call, providing her an opportunity to slip away unnoticed.
Disturbed by Vanraj’s cryptic instructions, Anupama speculates about his sinister intentions and ponders which woman he intends to involve in Dimpy’s wedding. Her thoughts drift to Vanraj’s past possessiveness towards Ansh, deepening her concern.
Aadhya preps to leave for India:
Anuj surprises Aadhya by gifting her Anupama’s stitched lehenga, withholding the fact that Anupama is the creator. Delighted by the gesture, Aadhya expresses her intention to wear it for Anuj and Shruti’s wedding. However, Anuj persuades her to don the lehenga at Dimpy’s wedding instead, which Aadhya ultimately agrees to.
Acknowledging Aadhya’s reluctance, she implores Anuj not to compel her into anything during Dimpy’s wedding, clarifying that her attendance is solely for his happiness. Anuj reassures her, promising not to pressure her into anything and ensuring she enjoys herself at the event.
Baapuji schools Baa:
The following morning, Anupama prepares prasad for the ritual. Baa reprimands Kavya for not preparing the prasad, asserting that outsiders should not undertake such tasks. Despite Anupama’s attempt to offer an explanation, Baa dismisses her and leaves.
Baa instructs Kavya and Kinjal to handle all the chores independently without seeking assistance. Later, she serves breakfast and tea to Baapuji. As she converses with him, Baapuji initially ignores her but eventually reproaches her for her treatment of Anupama.
Anupama gets hint of Vanraj’s plan:
Anupama perceives what she believes to be a cockroach in the kitchen and reacts with alarm, swiftly covering all the dishes to maintain hygiene. Vanraj enters and sarcastically remarks on Anupama’s handling of cleanliness. This sparks a verbal altercation between them. Suspicious of Vanraj’s motives, Anupama resolves to thwart any plans he may have.
While in the midst of this, Anupama senses Samar’s presence momentarily, only to realize it’s Titu. Titu expresses gratitude for her presence and seeks her blessings. As they converse, Vanraj appears, greeting Titu with an icy stare that doesn’t escape Anupama’s notice.
During the ritual, Anupama observes Titu’s distress and notices Toshu and Vanraj engrossed in their phones. Overwhelmed with emotion, she reminisces about Samar as the ceremony unfolds.
Anuj doubts Gulati about Anupama’s downfall:
Anuj suddenly recalls Rahul’s association with Gulati and promptly instructs someone to erase all traces of Gulati’s information. Meanwhile, Shruti attempts to engage Anuj in conversation, but he remains lost in thought. Abruptly, Anuj queries Shruti about her familiarity with Gulati, the proprietor of the Kebabs and Curry restaurant. Shruti discloses her acquaintance with him owing to professional interactions.
Anuj divulges his suspicions regarding Gulati, linking him to Anupama and the controversy surrounding Spice and Chutney. Shruti attempts to allay his concerns, noting the competitive nature between the two restaurants. However, Anuj asserts that Gulati must have committed some wrongdoing to undermine Spice and Chutney’s success.
Later, Shruti expresses her desire to participate remotely in all the wedding festivities via video call. Anuj, concerned, proposes she join them in India, but Shruti declines, expressing her preference to remain in the USA to prepare for their wedding. Anuj’s apprehension grows at her decision.
Vanraj gets angry with Anupama’s decision:
Ansh adamantly refuses to have his hair cut, sparking arguments from Baa and Vanraj in an attempt to persuade him otherwise. Inadvertently, Vanraj compares Ansh to Samar, a statement that resonates with Anupama and renders everyone momentarily silent. Titu interjects, affirming Ansh’s resemblance to Samar due to their familial bond, much to Anupama’s delight.
Despite the ongoing dispute, Ansh remains steadfast in his refusal. Anupama intervenes, proposing a compromise of merely cutting a single strand of hair for the ritual’s sake. Vanraj rebuffs Anupama’s involvement in their family matters, while Baa insists on adhering to tradition, suggesting a complete head shave as per the ritual.
Anupama counters, reminding them that Ansh’s mundan ceremony was conducted in his childhood, rendering another one unnecessary, a sentiment supported by Baapuji. Vanraj asserts his authority, declaring his decision-making prerogative regarding Ansh. Ansh, seeking refuge, runs to Anupama, entreating her to dissuade Vanraj from cutting his hair. Anupama assures him of her protection, enraging Vanraj further.
Yashdeep and Bijee plan to attend Dimpy’s wedding:
Yashdeep indulges in alcohol, prompting Bijee to reprimand him for his drinking habits. She advises him to reach out to Anupama for support. Additionally, Bijee shares Dimpy’s wedding invitation with Yashdeep and encourages him to accompany her to India for the wedding. She suggests that this would offer him the opportunity to apologize to Anupama as well.
Anupama admires Titu’s understanding:
During a ritual, the priest assigns Ansh’s father to perform the ceremony. Anupama proposes that Titu should undertake the ritual as he is now Ansh’s father. However, Vanraj disputes this, asserting his right as Ansh’s biological father to conduct the ritual. This disagreement escalates into an argument between Anupama and Vanraj.
Titu intervenes, emphasizing that the identity of the person performing the ritual is inconsequential, and he requests Vanraj to proceed with the ceremony for Ansh’s sake. Anupama admires Titu’s maturity and understanding. The episode concludes.
