Andhera (AmazonPrimeVideo) Review :-

In Andhera, it’s not long before you start feeling like the darkness is trying to swallow you too—and that unsettling atmosphere is exactly what this Prime Video series delivers. Early on, you sense a creeping dread, but the show soon gets lost in its own complex lore, ending up neither coherent nor truly entertaining.

I often say that fantasy shows need to fully commit to their world-building—if the show doesn’t believe in its own madness, viewers won’t either. But Andhera takes it so far that its intense dedication to its lore makes you question whether reality itself is even real.

Following a troubled medical student, a tough detective, and a paranormal enthusiast as they investigate a dark entity causing random deaths across Mumbai, the series struggles to make sense and is difficult to believe—even for a supernatural fiction show. While fantasy often requires some suspension of disbelief, Andhera seems to push that boundary beyond reason.

Credit is due to the cast—Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, Priya Bapat, and Surveen Chawla, who appears to be relishing her role as the villain once again—but Andhera ends up testing viewers’ patience and sanity. It blurs the line between reality and absurdity to the point of disappearing altogether. Events unfold without clear cause, shifting erratically from science to folklore to clinical depression, as if simply believing hard enough can justify the chaos.

The twists are so predictable they fail to surprise, delivering one cliché after another as if the show’s life depends on recycling tired tropes. The characters are frustratingly foolish, making decisions so dumb you’ll want to scream. The main issue with Andhera is that it dives too far off the deep end. While I enjoy supernatural horror and find the mix of the supernatural with science intriguing, Andhera is neither—it ends up as just another wild attempt to do something outrageous, hoping it somehow lands.

Andhera (AmazonPrimeVideo) Trailor :-

In the end, the series deserves some credit for touching on mental health issues and showing different ways people try to confront them. However, it’s clear the show pushed things to the extreme, seemingly more focused on provoking strong reactions from viewers—positive or not—than delivering a thoughtful message.

Final Thought

Andhera on Prime Video is painfully bad and utterly confusing. With its awkward dialogue, erratic plot twists, and irritating, unrealistic characters, it’s enough to make you want to tear your hair out while waiting for something—anything—to make sense.
