Ali Asgar, who departed from The Kapil Sharma Show amid the rift between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, has responded to audiences’ sentiments about missing him in Netflix’s The Great Kapil Show.
The Great Indian Kapil Show, now streaming on Netflix, has garnered a mixed response from viewers. The first season of the show concluded after filming 13 episodes, and Kapil and his team are anticipated to begin shooting for the next season soon.
However, some viewers are disappointed by the absence of key members from the original cast of The Kapil Sharma Show, which aired on television. Recently, actor and comedian Ali Asgar shared his thoughts on not being part of the Netflix show, which also lacks other comedians like Sumona Chakravarti, Sudesh Lehri, and Bharti Singh.
When asked if he would consider reuniting with Kapil, Sunil, and the team for the new show, he told Zoom, “Hopefully yes, why not,” and added, “we are all friends.”
Reflecting on his past involvement in the comedy show and his absence from the new iteration, Ali expressed gratitude, stating, “I am thankful to God and the audience for appreciating my work.” He also extended his gratitude to Kapil, remarking, “Main Kapil ka bhi shukarguzar hoon ke main aise ek show ka hissa raha, jisse abhi main nahi hoon phir bhi itna pyaar mujhe milta hai (I am also thankful to Kapil that I have been a part of such a show, I still receive so much love for it even when I am not in it).” Ali then thanked the audience and added, “I don’t know about the future, but right now I’m busy with my chat show Chaddi Buddy.”
Ali parted ways with The Kapil Sharma Show alongside Sunil Grover in 2017 following the infamous altercation between Kapil and Sunil. Sunil’s departure from the show prompted Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar to also exit. Although Sunil reunited with Kapil for the Netflix show this year, Ali did not return.
