Ajayante Randam Moshanam leaves a strong impression with its polished performances and visually stunning scenes, all while presenting a fictional narrative that remains grounded and believable.
Kunjikelu, the celebrated warrior of Haripuram, is honored with the revered Chyothivilaku for completing a mission assigned by the royal family. The villagers hold the lamp in deep reverence, and local legends speak of how, years later, Maniyan attempted to steal this sacred treasure and met his end in the process. Despite the stigma surrounding his grandfather’s tarnished reputation, Ajayan, Maniyan’s grandson, dreams of leading a respectable life in the village. When a stranger with sinister intentions arrives, Ajayan finds himself in a difficult position. He must uncover the true reason behind his grandfather’s quest for the Chyothivilaku. This is Ajayan’s chance to pursue his romantic interest and redeem his family’s honor.
The film’s visually breathtaking sequences, which span three generations, promise a rewarding experience for those opting for the 3D version, even though OTTplay reviewed the 2D edition. Featuring an engaging storyline enhanced by fantastical elements, the filmmakers effectively honor the genre without confusing the audience. Tovino Thomas is the cornerstone of Ajayante Randam Moshanam, seamlessly stepping into each of the three roles. His exceptional performances as the reserved Ajayan, the shrewd and fierce thief Maniyan, and the composed warrior Kunjikelu showcase his versatility. While his transformation into Maniyan will likely captivate the audience, he deserves commendation for his skillful embodiment of each character through distinct body language and voice modulations.

Final Thought
The choice of supporting actors also deserves praise. Jagadish, Harish Uthaman, Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Sudheesh, and Surabhi Lakshmi all deliver strong performances despite their limited screen time. Additionally, Dhibu Ninan Thomas’ music adds the perfect blend of energy and emotion to the narrative, while the visual effects enhance the film’s aesthetic appeal.
While the first half of the film quickly captures the audience’s attention, the second half may feel somewhat extended. However, if you appreciate fantastical period dramas, you might find this minor drawback easy to overlook.
