Aashram Season 3 (MxPlayers) Review :-
In the global competition of religion, culture, and continents, there is one universal emotional thread that connects people across ages and boundaries: the issue of self-declaration of omniscience.
From the branding practices of Keith Raniere’s NXIVM in Canada to the mass suicide orchestrated by Yogmaya’s Jal Samadhi in Nepal, it’s disheartening to see that the grieving often cling to hope while predators exploit their vulnerability. When Indian filmmaker Prakash K Jha explored the life of the fictional—though perhaps not entirely imaginary—godman Baba Nirala in his 2020 series Aashram, it sparked significant discussion amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Jha’s commentary on these so-called “agents of God” reveals their blatant facades, prompting viewers to question: which version of the divine is truly authentic?

In season 3, the vengeance-driven Pammi and her partner Akki (Rajeev Siddhartha) intensify their quest for justice following the tragic deaths of their loved ones in season 2. Fueled by a desire for retribution, they embark on their mission to bring the culprits to justice. However, Prakash Jha chooses not to resolve the suspense at this pivotal moment. Instead, he prolongs the tension, stretching the narrative to the point where the novelty of Aashram begins to fade.
While Bobby Deol and Chandan Roy Sanyal have amassed their own ‘cultish’ following as the menacing Baba Nirala and Bhopa Swami—embodying on-screen toxicity—Tridha Choudhury (as Babita) also receives considerable acclaim for her performance. Despite these strong performances, the series as a whole struggles to justify its third season on MX Player.
Aashram Season 3 (MxPlayers) Trailor :-
Although none of us have lived within a cult, various documentaries on the subject highlight the role of calculated conditioning and power dynamics in the rise of such figures. Aashram is steeped in an atmosphere of malice and control. In the previous seasons, Prakash Jha’s portrayal of this intricate pyramid scheme was strikingly straightforward: much like MLMs, one indoctrinated follower recruits more, perpetuating the cycle until no one is left untouched. The novel approach and fresh material offered Jha ample room for experimentation.
However, in this season, despite the lack of substantial changes, Jha struggles to maintain our engagement. After a quick recap and tying up loose ends from the previous season, he fails to stay on a cohesive path. We see a tribal rebellion, a growing sense of unease among the main characters, and another ambitious figure climbing the ranks only to reveal their sinister motives—once again.
