A Copenhagen Love Story (Netflix) Review :-

Is love enough to sustain a relationship, especially when children enter the picture… or, in this case, don’t? Mia and Emil seem destined for each other, sharing a whirlwind romance that blossoms as they get to know one another. While the connection isn’t immediate, it becomes clear that something special is growing between them. The chemistry between actors Rosalinde Mynster and Joachim Fjelstrup is undeniable, and it’s evident from the moment they kiss that Emil and Mia are deeply in love.

Mia’s relationship with Emil’s two children, Selma and Felix, feels genuine and heartwarming, and before long, she seamlessly becomes part of their family. I appreciate that the film doesn’t create conflict through Emil’s ex-partner, but instead focuses on the couple’s personal struggles. However, the personal issues in A Copenhagen Love Story are undeniably heartbreaking. It’s one thing to face relationship challenges, but when two people who love each other find themselves drifting apart due to their inability to conceive, it’s a pain that’s truly hard to watch.

Infertility is incredibly difficult, but seeing it unfold so rawly on screen is profoundly painful. Mynster’s performance is so unflinchingly raw that it’s impossible not to feel a heavy weight in your chest with each piece of bad news. Even during her most frustrating moments, I couldn’t help but feel immense empathy and heartbreak for her. There were times when she was undeniably annoying, but it’s hard not to understand her perspective, trapped in this relentless cycle of hope and disappointment. The film vividly captures this painful journey of loss, and it’s likely to resonate deeply with anyone who has experienced something similar.

However, I found myself disappointed with how the film handles the reconciliation process. One moment, they’re broken up, and the next, Emil has forgiven Mia completely. It feels a bit rushed, especially since we don’t get to hear their conversation, which left me feeling somewhat cheated. After taking such a deep emotional journey with her, Mia’s redemption comes surprisingly quickly and out of nowhere. It’s also hard to fully believe Emil’s sudden change of heart, especially given the impact this situation must have had on his children.

A Copenhagen Love Story (Netflix) Trailor :-

I also felt that the final part of the film was rushed. Based solely on what the film shows, it could have taken more time to explore Emil and Mia’s reconciliation before jumping straight into a romantic, feel-good resolution. This abrupt shift detracts from the authenticity of the situation, making it feel less grounded.

Final Thought

A Copenhagen Love Story is emotionally intense in the first half, weighing heavily on your heart as Mia faces both physical and mental struggles. While the second half feels a bit rushed, I still enjoyed the overall experience, despite its undeniably somber tone.
